Hey all. Here is a document I had prepared a long time back and found it only few days ago, while rummaging through my drawers.
The outstanding nature of Northern Exposure can be gauged from the fact that the show was nominated at the Emmys for around 50 odd awards along with several Golden Globes. The creators of this series, John Falsey and Joshua Brand, got two Peabody Awards, consecutively, one in 1991 and the other was shared in 1992 along with and Finnegan-Pinchuk Company and CBS. Some of the major awards it won are:
The 1992 Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series presented to Joshua Brand and John Falsey. ( For the same awards, the show was nominated in 1991 as well)
The 1992, Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series presented to Valerie Mahaffey.
The 1992 Emmy Award for Individual Achievement in Writing for a Drama Series presented to Andrew Schneider and Diane Frolov for “Seoul Mates.”

The Golden Award for Best Drama series in the year, 1991 and 1992 while being nominated for the same in 1993 as well.
The 1993 Directors Guild Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Dramatic Shows for the episode “Cicely”.
And this is not all, there have been several nominations as I had just mentioned. In 1994 Screen Actors Guild Awards, the whole cast of the show was nominated for the category, Best Cast - Comedy Series
In 1991, besides winning other Emmys, the show was nominated for: Outstanding Sound Mixing - Drama Series, for the episode “Aurora Borealis: A Fairy Tale For Big People” and also for its Pilot episode, John Falsey and Joshua Brand were nominated for Outstanding Writing - Drama Series
Rob Marrow was nominated from the show for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor - Drama Series in the years, 1991, 1992 and 1993 but it’s a pity that he never won any.

Janine Turner was nominated as well for her character “Maggie O’Connell” in Northern Exposure for the Golden Globe Award category of Best Actress - Drama Series, in the years, 1991, 1992 and even in 1993, but again she never won any. In 1992, again, for the Best Supporting Actor - (Mini) Series or TV Film Golden Globe Award, John Corbett was nominated as well, for his portrayal of “Chris” in the series.
Then there was a Grammy Award nomination and some nominations from the Directors Guild of America Awards as well.
