Cynthia Geary is an American actress who was born and bought up in Mississippi. At an early age she was encouraged by he voice and music teacher mother to learn ballet, piano and voice. She studied vocal performance at the University of Mississippi and graduated with honors in Bachelor of Arts. She married commercial real estate broker Robert Coron in October 1994. The couple has two daughters named Olivia who is eight years old and Lyla who is two years old. Cynthia currently lives in Issaquah, Washington with her family. She acts only occasionally while trying to spend most of her time as the stay-at-home mom with her two daughters.

Cynthia started her acting career with spots in many national commercials including the ones for Coca-Cola and General Motors. She then moved to do guest roles in various television shows. She has appeared in shows like Adam 12, To Grandmother’s House We Go, Hostile Force, The Outer Limits, Fantasy Island, Dead Man’s Gun and Home of the Brave etc., besides playing the role of Shelly Tambo on Northern Exposure. For her role in the series Cynthia was nominated for the Emmy Award of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for two consecutive years in 1992 and 1993. In addition she has also acted in movies like Young Doctors in Love, Rich Girl, 8 Seconds, Smoke Signals, Break Up, Mulletville and Expiration Date etc.

Role in Northern Exposure

In Northern Exposure, she plays the role of Shelly Tombo. She is a beautiful but a little ditzy former beauty queen. She was bought to Cicely by Maurice with the hope of marrying her but she marries Holling Vincoeur who is many decades older than her. It is later revealed that she has been married before also to her schoolmate and hockey player Wayne Jones whom she had not divorced before marrying Holling.
